Irene Avis Lobban passed away on August 28, 2014 at the age of 86 in Denver, Colorado. She was born on October 13, 1927 in Denver, Colorado to Beulah Florence Young and Merle Donald Young. She grew up in Denver, went to Perry Elementary for kindergarten and then onto Barnum School to continue her education. She finished 8th grade at Barnum. She worked at an air filter making facility and at Rockmont Envelope before marrying the love of her life, James Leonard Lobban. Irene Avis Lobban passed away on August 28, 2014 at the age of 86 in Denver, Colorado. She was born on October 13, 1927 in Denver, Colorado to Beulah Florence Young and Merle Donald Young. She grew up in Denver, went to Perry Elementary for kindergarten and then onto Barnum School to continue her education. She finished 8th grade at Barnum. She worked at an air filter making facility and at Rockmont Envelope before marrying the love of her life, James Leonard Lobban.

She met Jim at a favorite local's gathering place called Hart's Corner. They were married on April 29, 1955 and quickly set up home on 1st and Perry Street in Denver. The home came with property; an orchard and large garden. Together they raised chickens, rabbits and chldren! Jim inherited two children from Irene's first marriage; George Avis Shaw and Lylia Neve Shaw. While living at the Perry residence, Irene gave birth to James Merle Lobban and Donald Alexander Lobban. The family moved to Lakewood in 1957. Tammy Irene Lobban and Florence Ruby Lobban were born. Jim and Irene moved to Layton, Utah in 1967 for two years due to a promotion for Jim. They eventually moved back to the Lakewood area.

Irene was a full time mother and homemaker. She loved camping, boating, trips to South Dakota to visit in-laws, puzzles, embroidery, canning and being the assistant on any and all of her beloved husband's activities.

Funeral Service, Wednesday, September 3, 2014, 12PM, Crown Hill Chapel, 7777 West 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, 80033; Burial, Crown Hill.

Irene will be missed most by her partner of 59 years, Jim, six children, fifteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a brother, Lyle Young.

Irene was the best of everything! She was loved by her family and will be missed by all who knew her.
