I worked with Jim at the Everett I. Brown Company in the early and mid 1950s, first as a cub draftsman and later as a regisered architect. Jim was a great teacher and a mentor. I enjoyed his humor and wit so much that I copied some of his "sayings" and mannerisms.. Later, as Lewis & Shimer Architects, Jim was one of our favored consultants. My brother Bob was an employee of Jim,s who enjoyed being with him and prospered due to Jim's
influence. Dorothy was a neighbor of our family in our teen years. May you be blessed by God in your tme of loss. Jim Lewis

Dorothy - Jim was a most wonderful and caring employer, and you, certainly, were such a strong helpmate to him. Through the years I have often thought of his advice to me as I interviewed with him - "There is no security in this business (consulting engineering), the only security you will have is the reputation you make for yourself." Truly, I am so thankful for the 18 + years I worked for and with Jim. My sincere sympathy to you and your children.
