I have been humbled to know this great man I call my Grandfather. He is the most kindest and generous man I know. I am so blessed to know he was able to see and get to know his great grand daughter. They have a special bond that can never be broken. They use to tell each other knock knock jokes and even if they were not funny he would laugh at her jokes and make her feel like she was the greatest joke teller in the world. She misses him terribly. We will miss you grandpa and we love you!

I have been humbled to have this man in my life since I was little. I am proud to call him my Grandfather. He is the most kindest and generous man I have known. My daughter knows him as Grandpa Jack and she misses him terribly. They shared a one of a kind bond. I am so happy that he was around to meet his great grand babies. It brought him joy and enlightenment when they would call or visit. Every time I hear a knock knock joke it will bring a special memory. He was a one of a kind and I will miss him dearly. We love you!

Connie, I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Jack's passing. Jimmy's tribute too him is the same gratitude I feel for the "greatest generation" that has ever lived. I am so proud to have the heritage of Grandpa and Grandma Wolfe. Their training, hardships and love for Uncle Jack and all his brothers who proudly served in World War II made us all proud to be a part of this family. Even though we have not seen each other as cousins due to living in different parts of the country we share a common bond of a great heritage with each other. I pray you will feel God's love, comfort and strength during this time. Please feel free to call me if you need to talk or need anything at this time. I'm looking foward to the time when I see Grandpa and Grandma and our whole family can once again be together. Trudy (Gertrude after Grandma Wolfe) Abbott Dunham 618-779-7168 I will be in touch after the funeral.

I only wish I could have heard more of Uncle Jack's U. S. Navy experience stories. Fortunately, I was able to share a few via phone conversations.
He is another of those very brave and heroic WW2 veterans to whom this nation owe a sincere Thank You and profound gratitude for preserving our freedoms which we enjoy today.
Uncle Jack proudly served this nation in the U.S. Navy for 20 plus years from April 1938 to June 1959, enlisting before the U.S. was involved in WW2.
His meritorious service included ship assignments aboard the U.S.S. Wyoming,
Seattle, Benson, SC703, LSL318(destroyed at Sicily by a German dive bomber), LSL 294, Europa, Conecuh, Charles S. Sperry, Compton, and Shenandoah.
You are, and will certainly be missed.
Thank You!
God Bless & Farewell
