Jack Edson Ammons, 69, of Rome, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at a local hospital. Jack was born November 13, 1944 in Belle Center, Ohio to Ed Ammons and Myra Jones Ammons. Jack spent his early years in Belle Center, Ohio. He attended Belle Center High School where he met the love of his life, Ronda McCarren Ammons. Jack's career in the meat industry spanned 50 years. He formed many long lasting friendships along the way. He enjoyed his work and the relationships that formed. The dedication to his profession was only surpassed by his commitment to his family. Jack enjoyed the outdoors and working with his hands....
Jack Edson Ammons, 69, of Rome, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at a local hospital.

Jack was born November 13, 1944 in Belle Center, Ohio to Ed Ammons and Myra Jones Ammons. Jack spent his early years in Belle Center, Ohio. He attended Belle Center High School where he met the love of his life, Ronda McCarren Ammons.

Jack's career in the meat industry spanned 50 years. He formed many long lasting friendships along the way. He enjoyed his work and the relationships that formed. The dedication to his profession was only surpassed by his commitment to his family. Jack enjoyed the outdoors and working with his hands. He cherished the time spent on weekends with friends and family.

Jack is survived by his wife, Ronda Kathleen McCarren Ammons of Rome, GA; his daughter, Scarlett DeAnn Ammons King and her husband Greg King of Fayetteville, GA; his son, Rhett Aaron Ammons and his wife Mandy Whatley Ammons of Canton, GA; his grandchild, Avery Olivia Ammons of Canton, GA; and his brother Lewis Byron (Pete) Ammons and his wife Shirley Ammons of Neward, OH.

A celebration of life was held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Daniel's Funeral Home, 901 East 2nd Avenue, Rome, Georgia 30161.
