Jack Irwin Bell, 83, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Mercy Hospital. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., with funeral services at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines. Burial with full military honors will be at Chapel Hill Gardens. Jack was born March 30, 1929 to Ray Edward and Laura Mae (Nolte) Bell in West Plains, Missouri. He grew up in Sac City, Iowa. Survivors include his wife, Ellie Hoyla; step son, Ken Hoyla; step daughter, Kathy Wadle; step grandchildren, Trish, Kirk, Mike, Kim, Megan, Tammy and Tony; and his 16 great grandchildren.
