Jack Davis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 4, 2012.

Jack Davis, 76, passed away on October 2, 2012. Jack was born in Modock, WV. Following High School, he moved to Detroit, MI to attend an electronic technical school. During this time, Jack married his high school sweetheart Shirley Anne. After graduating from technical school, he went to work for Chrysler Missile Division in Detroit and later served in the army. His last post took them to Huntsville, AL where he worked at Redstone Arsenal. Following his discharge from the army, he resumed work for Chrysler in Huntsville. Following Chrysler, he became an employee of IBM. He worked there as an Electronic Technician. Jack was extremely good at what he did. His reputation for being a quality technician grew rapidly after he transferred from Huntsville to Austin, TX in 1977. Following his retirement in December, 1996, he continued to enjoy his bowling and golfing activities. Bowling led him to hold the state record for highest series of perfect games scored. He was also actively involved in coaching youth in bowling.

He is survived by his wife Shirley of 58 years, along with four brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law and many, many friends who admired and loved him.
