Born April 27, 1938 to Frank and Marion Fanella in Franklin Park, IL he is survived by: Carol Fanella, his wife of 55 years; and his three daughters and their husbands: Terri & John Hulbert, Lorri & Tim Brown, and Kerri & Michael Whitt. Son-in-law to Helen Laing; Uncle and friend to 25 nieces and nephews. High school sweethearts, Jack and Carol spent many blessed years raising their girls, exploring the country, and relentlessly loving their grandchildren. Jack and Carol moved to Florida in 1975 where he spent his work years in property management. Jack lived a life dedicated to family, country, and baseball. A diehard Cubs fan, many vexed and irritating afternoons were spent rooting for the win. Nicknamed “Poppy” by his first grandchild Alexandria, he was anything they wanted him to be, an artist, a hockey player, a black belt, an actor, a cheerleader, a swimmer, and a scholar. Carol wishes to extend her gratitude for the loving care from: Dr. Julie Kish, Pablo, Dean, Janet, Nakeeta and Amy Conlin. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00AM, Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at St. Paul Catholic Church.
