Rev. Jack Woodrow Franklin, 89, of Victoria, passed away September 25, 2013. He was born November 22, 1923, in San Antonio to the late Russell Sterges and Rebbie Melson Franklin. Rev. Franklin served as pastor for First U.M.C. in Somerset, First U.M.C. in Universal City, First U.M.C. in Devine, First U.M.C. in Hondo, First U.M.C. in Mountain Home, Oxford U.M.C. in San Antonio, St. Paul's U.M.C. in Kerrville, St. Mark's U.M.C. in Victoria and was the administrator for Hill Top Village in Kerrville and Wesley Manor in Weslaco. He also served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean conflict. ...
Rev. Jack Woodrow Franklin, 89, of Victoria, passed away September 25, 2013. He was born November 22, 1923, in San Antonio to the late Russell Sterges and Rebbie Melson Franklin. Rev. Franklin served as pastor for First U.M.C. in Somerset, First U.M.C. in Universal City, First U.M.C. in Devine, First U.M.C. in Hondo, First U.M.C. in Mountain Home, Oxford U.M.C. in San Antonio, St. Paul's U.M.C. in Kerrville, St. Mark's U.M.C. in Victoria and was the administrator for Hill Top Village in Kerrville and Wesley Manor in Weslaco. He also served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean conflict.

Survivors include his daughter, Susan Verret of Dallas; sons, Russell Franklin and Thomas Franklin, both of Inez; sister, Mary F. Hatter of Floresville; five grandchildren, Emily Nolen, Angela Dunkle, Clifford Franklin, Annalisa Franklin and Wendy Franklin; three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Jean Franklin, and grandchild, Nathan Verret.

A joint funeral service will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013, at 11 AM, at First United Methodist Church in Victoria, for Rev. Jack Franklin and wife, Rosa Jean Franklin, who passed away March 18, 2011. Rev. Jarrell Sharp will be officiating.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at 11 AM, at the San Fernando Cemetery III, 1735 Cupples Road, San Antonio, Texas, 78226.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Methodist Children's Home, 1111 Herring Avenue, Waco, Texas, 76708.
