Born to the late John and Mary Miles (nee Eskesen), he has lived in Manahawkin for the past 8 years. He was predeceased by his son John P. Miles. Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Eileen P. Miles (nee Fleming), two devoted daughters and their spouses Eileen and Daniel McCallum, Manchester, and Teresa and Michael Tarricone, Manahawkin. Also surviving is his sister, Marion Cannelongo, Sarasota, Fla. He was a wonderful Pop Pop to his six surviving grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Jack proudly served in the US Navy for four years aboard the Battleship USS New Jersey (BB62) during the Korean War. Dear Eileen,
God works in many strange ways. I will be attending a funeral mass here at St. Timothy's Catholic Church at the same time that the Mass for Jack will be held. Since I am the volunteer coordinator for the Bereavment group here at St. Timothy's it just happened that I was asked to work with the family here and arrange a funeral mass for this time. You will all be remembered through me at this Mass here. May God embrace all of you through this time of sorrow.

To one of the best Uncles a nephew could have. We always laughed spent over 40 Thanksgivings together. I was proud that he influenced my life's decisions, especially joining the Navy.
He was our Mothers Brother but he made me feel like his younger brother. We'll miss you Uncle Jack. Wish we could be with the family.
