Jack B. Williams, age 83, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Wexford House. Mr. Williams was a native of Erwin, TN, and the son of the late Joel and Thelma Williams. He was a member of Vermont United Methodist Church, and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Williams was a former employee of the Kingsport Press for 15 years, before owning Jack Williams Construction Company. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Williams. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Loretta Stata Williams; daughter, Suzanne Caruthers and husband Mike, Knoxville, TN; grandchildren: Olivia Caruthers and Collin Caruthers, both of Knoxville, TN; brother, Lynn Williams and wife Barbara of Etowah, TN; sisters-in-laws: Betty Williams, Lena Hensley, Inez Todd, along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 1, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Jared Wood, officiating. Graveside Services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in East Lawn Memorial Park. Everyone is asked to assemble at the funeral home by 10:45 to go in procession to the cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840962, Dallas, TX, 75284-0692 or to the Sullivan County Humane Society, P.O. Iwill never forget him & the truly wonderful kindness that he has always shown me for many years. Loretta, I am so sorry for your loss of Uncle Jack. I remember him as having a wonderful sense of humor and usually laughing. He seemed so proud of his family. I felt welcomed in your home and at ease in Uncle Jack's relaxed approach to life! I could see so much of Uncle Jack in Daddy when they were together.
