Witherspoon, Jackson Kent – age 39, died suddenly on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. He graduated in 1991 from Doyle High School and in 1999, he graduated from UT Ornamental Horticulture and Landscaping Design. Kent was the owner of Sycamore Lawn and Landscape for 10 years. He enjoyed kayaking, hiking and anything outdoors. Preceded in death by aunt and uncle, Charlie and Pasty Aytes; cousin, Tracy Green; and half brother, Mark Witherspoon. He is survived by loving mother, Jenny Witherspoon; half brother, Ben Witherspoon; half sisters, Amy, Nikki and Katie Witherspoon; father, Jack Witherspoon; cousins, Lizzie Green and John Aytes; partner, Jennifer England; and cat, Buddy. He will be sorely missed by a multitude of friends for his charismatic charm and character. Family and friends will meet at 11am, Saturday, November 3, 2012 for graveside services at Seven Island Cemetery, Seven Islands Road, Knoxville, TN 37920. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of the Smokies, P.O. Box 1660, Kodak, Tennessee 37764-7660, or by going to their website www.friendsofthesmokies.org. Condolences may be offered at www.berryfuneralhome.com.

I have not seen Kent in many years,but went to UT with Kent. I have such great memories of Kent! I can see his smile,hear his laughter. Just the sight of him coming lit up the room. My goodness he could make you laugh--good times hiking and hanging out. Truly my deepest sympathies for the family!

You would not remember me but my son Jeremy and Kent were close friends thru the years at UT and afterwards. When Jeremy called and told me about this I could not believe it. Kent did have a carrisma About him and made many friends. Jeremy had many happy hikes in the Smokies and elsewhere with him. I can't imagine how hard this is on you. May you have the comfort that you need. Our family was blessed because of his friendship.
