A celebration of life will be held for Jacob Andrew Macias on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen and burial to follow at Central Texas State Cemetery with military honors. A visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5 and a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6 at the Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home.

Jacob "J-Mac" Andrew Macias, age 23, ended his battle with leukemia on Dec 30, 2012; he fought hard and remained positive thru this tough battle, however, the Lord called home a wonderful and sweet soul. Jacob had strong faith and knew that if God called him home his father would be waiting with open arms. Jacob will always be his Mommas' sweet baby and his brothers' best friend. Jacob always had a sweet and beautiful smile where ever he went and touched so many people throughout his short life. He always had a moment for anyone; ready to listen, give advice or to even debate his way of thinking. Jacob was always contemplating life and what was most important; family, friends, love, and life. Jacob was born in Victoria, Texas on Sep 10, 1989, and thru his life enjoyed many travels and enjoyed life as a "military brat" to Europe, Hawaii and within the US. He graduated from Killeen High School in 2007 where he played football and wrestling. Jacob attended Central Texas College and soon realized he needed to see more of the world and joined the U.S. Navy to follow his parents' military role; to make a change in the world for children everywhere however Jacob lost his beloved father; SSG German Estrada shortly thereafter.

Jacob was an avid sports fan of the San Francisco 49ers, Texas Longhorns and Houston Astros, loved to shoot pool, write poems and random wonderful hard hitting thoughts and draw, favorite super hero was Batman, he had an awesome personality and wonderful character. He enjoyed hanging out with his favorite brother; Joshua Estrada, numerous friends and "bros", eating his favorite burger from Non Stop Burger, eating tacos from the taco truck at Starlite, and listening to music of all types, his favorite; " The Lord loves a drinking man", cruising in "Shelley" his car. He dreamed of one day opening his own business, be it a pool hall or place for friends to gather and hangout. Where Jacob was: there was laughter, fun and music. Jacob was loved tremendously and will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

During Jacob's last year he worked hard from his hospital bed and even attended a few bone marrow and blood drives in hopes of finding a donor and to increase awareness of the challenges and heart ache that leukemia can bring regardless of gender, race or age. His heart was broken for the children, teenagers and people of his own age and had decided to start a foundation; "Jacob's Journey" in hoping of bringing happiness to them.

Jacob is survived by his mother; SFC (R) Barbara K. Estrada and his brother Joshua Estrada, grandparents John and Adela Mendez from Bloomington, TX, and Josefina Estrada from Hanford, Ca. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and step family members. Jacob is preceded in death by his father; SSG German C. Estrada, Grandfather Luis Estrada SR. and biological father Guadalupe Macias.

Pallbearers; Joshua Estrada, Craig Autry, Kirk Larimore, Anita Landry, Jesse Ryan and Demar Drayton
Honorary pallbearers will be; Michael Autry, Dennis Moses, Greg Camacho, Chris Gamble, Jacob Graham, Tony Macias and Richard Sansonetti; whom are serving in the US Armed forces.

"I never personally knew Jacob but, I remember seeing him at Killeen High always with a smile on his face..no one would have ever imagined that he was..." J A (Killeen)
