Jacqueline Batt Tomeny, age 87 years, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Richard John Tomeny, Sr. Daughter of the late Warren Riboli Batt and Optat Millet Batt. Sister of the late Warren R. Batt Jr. and the late Gayle Batt Thibaut (Robert Sr.). Sister –in- law of Shirley Batt and the late Mary Lou Batt. Loving mother of Richard J. Tomeny, Jr. (Mary Bergeron), Laurin Tomeny Courtney (Wayne), and Lynette Tomeny Farrell (George) and former daughter-in-law Rosalie Tomeny. Grandmother of Neil W. Courtney (Candace), Stacie Farrell Richardson (Jeff), Scott R. Farrell (Jim), Caroline Tomeny Bond (Rick), Kristen E. Tomeny, and Miles O. Bergeron. Great grandmother of Skylar, Madison, Conner, Molly, Layla, and Amelia. She will be greatly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family members.
Jacqueline graduated from Sophie B. Wright High School in 1947, where she was an officer of the Omega Pi Sorority. She went on to complete Business School. In her earlier years she was employed by the Internal Revenue Service, South Central Bell and H&R Block. She spent her remaining years as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 12:00PM.
