Jaime was born on September 20, 1950 in Baguio City, Philippines. He was the fourth child of David and Eufemia Abellera. He was also known to family and friends as "James".
Jaime attended St. Louis High School and then transferred to the University of Baguio. He immigrated to the United States in 1976. Later that same year, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for 20 years. After retiring from the U.S. Navy, Jaime worked at the San Diego Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Jaime was a hard-working man, and everything he did was for his family. Jaime is survived by his two sons, Christian Earl and Francis Glenn, daughter-in-law Marjorie, and grandchildren Christian Jeremiah and Amarie. He is also survived by 11 brothers and sisters: Corazon, David Jr., Alma, Delia, Elena, Susan, Lourdes, Jose, Daniel, Ramona, and Lisa.
When Jaime wasn't spending time with family and friends, he enjoyed activities such as watching the San Diego Chargers and playing golf. He loved to buy toys for his grandchildren and shop for hats. Jaime also liked to drink coffee or Coca Cola with his Marlboros. He enjoyed singing karaoke, and his favorite song was "My Way" by Frank Sinatra.

I will miss you my Dear Brother, we are talking mostly every night on the phone just to talk on things and remind you of your medicines not to miss them. i saw you the last time when i stayed in your place last January 25th for about a week. we slept late at nights telling stories and you were laughing on the stories we shared. I can't believe you are gone, till now I am Crying when I remember you. You were such a very good and helping person. we had a lot of memories together with Jose, those campings, Point Reyes, because you love oysters, when we were young in Scout Barrio and Hillside. you will always be a part of me as I go on in life, for I have learned a lot from you, I miss you so much...

I've known Jaime since we were kids growing up in Baguio City. Our families knew each other very well. Matter of fact her sister was our teacher in grade school. Also, his brother David and sister Delia are quite familiar to my family as well. I remember Jaime as a friendly and amiable guy. Last time I came across him was in Perth, Australia in the late 80's when we were in the service. I remember us sitting down over a few beers and reminiscing our 'Scout Barrio' days. Always a true friend and I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers to the Abellera family. God Bless and Rest in peace, Jaime.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Christian, Francis, and family. We were all so fortunate to have an uncle like your father. Very wise, giving, and most of all loving. I remember how much your dad loved to go camping and how he always cared about your well-being before his own. He loved you all so much- you were all he would talk and think about. He will always be in our hearts and prayers. We thank God for having him in our family.

My lasting memory with you was our last conversation not to long ago, about 2 weeks. Neither did I know that this will be our last.Believe me it was the happiest moment I'ved interacted with you. You have always been my Hero.I became an avid runner because of you.Your life concept of being honest in anything you do I also endorsed in my life. And being simple and humble was the good characteristics I admired most of you & I also practice. I will always pray for you and I know that the Good Lord will be merciful & will grant you PEACE & LOVE you'ved yearned all your life.We all LOVE you Manong Jaime.

Our Prayers are with you Christian And Francis, Your father and my Brother, left us with great and memorable moments, He will be missed. I will continue to do what he left, waiting for you, Christian to come home, The doors of my house are wide open for you I will be waiting till you will be home. He was my best friend for he was just like me living alone in life, who just wanted life to be simple. Never bothered anyone and he kept his problems within him. When I retired from the Postal Service, I told him to come over here in Frisco, and he said yes when he retires with The VA this September, he is just waiting till he turns 62 and a 40 year military and federal service. It's just so sad things just went wrong, God had other plans for him. Stick together you two, protect each other, and love each other strongly. May your Dad rest in peace...Daniel Abellera and Jeannie Hale.
