Jim began the sport of curling at the age of 16 and he has been active every winter since 1932 except during the war. That start led to appearances in five provincial play-downs. Jimmie was an enthusiastic supporter of his favourite Yankees and Leafs and he coached minor baseball and hockey teams.

Barb....What a long month you have had with the passing of both folks. I remember old Jimmy's laugh while teaching us how to curl and Rose would always be at home in the kitchen making us treats when we could come and visit. if seemed to be a second home) They are all very fond memories. They were wonderful parents and I often think back to those days of fun. I am thinking of you. There is an old Scottish saying "just a tinture of time"....May Jimmy and Rose rest in peace with their son Peter.....Lots of Love Lee (McLean) Price Victoria BC

Dear Barb and family,
It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of both Jim and Rose. What a difficult time for you all.
The visit we had in Ottawa recently with Jim was very special to me, and his optimism, joy, humour and passion for this country, community and politics were infectious. It was a special day to share in his light. He made a profound impression on me.
While we all come together in sorrow and sadness, it is also a time to celebrate a life that is such a model for so many.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you,
With condolences and in sympathy,
Evan Solomon

Dear Barb and Joe and Family,
Our hearts go out to you at this time of such heavy loss of both parents. It was truly an honour to have met and visited with Jimmy even so briefly. Knowing Jim gave me a much needed connection to my own father. How gracious Jim was to us when we visited at his birthday.
Thank you to all of you and know that our prayers are with you at this time. We are with you in spirit.
with love and blessings,
Barbara Monk and John Dixon
