James Bernard "Jimmy" Moore, 82, a longtime resident of Pinckard, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017 to a joyous reunion with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and the most precious thing he had, Lydia Miller Moore.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2017 at Pinckard Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Woodall officiating. Burial will follow in Pinckard Memorial Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Friday prior to service time.
Flowers are being accepted or contributions may be made to Pinckard Baptist Church "Building Committee" in the name of James Bernard Moore.
Mr. Moore was born in Clayton, Alabama on December 19, 1934 to his loving parents, Anthony and Estello Moore and spent most of all of life in Pinckard. He was a graduate of Newton High School and was an avid member of the Newton High School Alumni Association. He thoroughly enjoyed helping people with income taxes over the years. Mr. Moore was employed at Ft. Rucker in the aircraft department as a methods and procedures technician for over 40 years prior to his retirement. He was a faithful member of Pinckard Baptist Church and enjoyed his Sunday School Class immensely.
He is predeceased by his parents, his wife of 57 years, Lydia Moore, and an infant son, Timothy Eric Moore.
Survivors include his son, Mark Anthony Moore of Pinckard; three grandchildren, Justin Kane Moore of Portland OR, Megan Anne Moore of Scottsdale, AZ and Hannah Elizabeth Moore of Los Angeles, CA.
Active pallbearers will be Donnie Sullivan, Bobby Henderson, Preston Thomley, Bobby Borland, Mark Ivey and Arthur Preston.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Sunday School Class of Pinckard Baptist Church, Fred McNab and Fred Daniels.
