"Our loving Papa" James B Hill passed away after a heroic battle with Cancer at the age of 72 surrounded by his family.
Jim grew up with a passion for singing and dancing. Starting in Elementary School he entertained at County Fairs and nursing homes. All the way into his teens he continued his love for entertaining as he danced on Dick Stewarts KPIX dance party in San Francisco CA. From 1961 – 1963 he was Student Body President at San Lorenzo Valley High School, continuing into college at Cabrillo College he performed in the 1963 Musical of Meredith Wilsons the "Music Man, and playing the role of McCaffery in the 1964 play of "South Pacific". Along with entertaining he had a vision and steady hand for oil painting creating beautiful canvases.
Shortly after Jim joined the Army National Guard serving 9 years as an Armor Crewman. Receiving an honorable discharge at the rank of E6. James made the move to Las Vegas to pursue his love for the arts. After 6 years he relocated to Santa Cruz and then the North state. His positivity and charisma lead him in the direction of Retail Service where he spent 35 plus years soon retiring to unwind and enjoy his family.
Jim is survived by his wife Catherine Hill of 32 years, Daughter Jennifer (Jacob) Provencio and 2 grandchildren Jaron D Provencio and Jenna G Provencio of Cottonwood CA, Daughter Rebecca (Scott) Creede and 3 grandchildren Elliott S Creede, Cassidy L Creede and Christian J Creede of Chico CA. Brother Joseph Hill of Angels Camp CA. Granddaughters Lorryn I Hill and Erin J Hill of Palm Harbor FL. Preceded in death by his son James B Hill Jr and parents.
A memorial service will be held September 12, 2017 at 2pm at Northern California Veterans Cemetery 11800 Gas Point Road, Igo CA 96047. A reception will be held at McDonald's Chapel at 3:00pm and to remember to sign the "A life remembered" book
