Dr. James (Jim) David Murphy II was born November 13th, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to Elliott and Celeste Murphy. His life came to a peaceful close on November 19th, 2016 at his home in Palm Beach Gardens, FL surrounded by his loving family. Jim is survived by his wife, Margaret (Peggy Whiteman) and their five children: Margaret, James III (Julia), John FX, Elizabeth McNish (John), and Christopher (Elizabeth), as well as his grandchildren, James IV, Matthew, Julia, Christian, Jack (McNish) and Luella. Jim was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph (Trinh Cunningham) and Norman and Norman's wife, Sarah. He leaves two brothers, Robert and Lawrence (Jurate) and a sister Jeanne. Above all else, Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and great friend to many. He took tremendous pride in his Jesuit Education as well as the time he served as a medic during the Korean War. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated, in Jim's honor, at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 28th at St Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 10970 Jack Nicklaus Drive, North Palm Beach, FL. What a wonderful, warm, funny man Dr. Murphy was! I feel so fortunate to have known him, and my heart is broken for all of the Murphys. My love and prayers are with you all, and I hope that the many great memories you have of times spent with him will comfort you in the tough days ahead. So sorry I can't be there with you all. God bless Dr. Jim and keep him in His loving embrace.
