COLUMBIA - A funeral service for James David Slagle, Jr., 50, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Reverend Larry Shull will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Slagle passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. Born on September 18, 1966 in Columbia, he was a son of James David Slagle, Sr. and Margaret Carol Chatham Slagle of Columbia.
David worked in the utility supply industry and last worked for Southern Utility. He enjoyed hunting, baseball, and umpiring softball. He was a member of Living Water Baptist Church in North Myrtle Beach.
In addition to his parents, surviving are his sons, J.D. Slagle (Victoria) of Columbia, Tanner Slagle and Hampton Slagle both of North Myrtle Beach; daughter, Courtney S. Wrennall (Jordan) of Tacoma, Washington; grandson, Rylan Slagle; brother, Joe Slagle (Melissa) of Columbia; niece, Jordan Slagle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 500 Taylor Street, Suite 101, Columbia, SC 29201.
