James Dillon Richardson, 19, of Brent, Alabama, went Home to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 10th, 2017, after being involved in a car accident. Dillon’s life would seem short to many, but those closest to him and knew him best know that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. He was born May 5th, 1998 to David and Connie (Walker) Richardson. He attended Westview Heights Preschool in Ozark, Alabama, and G.W. Long Elementary in Skipperville, Alabama. Upon moving to Florida, he attended Bluewater Elementary, Ruckle Middle, and Niceville High School in Niceville Florida, where he was President of the Interact Club, member of the Debate Team, National Honor Society, and the Marching Band. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2016. While in high school, Dillon achieved his brown belt in Shorin-Ryu and Shorinkan karate at C.D. Williamson Karate and Kickboxing. Upon his numerous hobbies, he loved to travel, from spending time touring numerous European cities and Mexico to visiting his favorite family destination of Disney World.
He went on to attend the University of Alabama as a Political Science and Environmental Science major. There, he became a member of the Honors College and Stem-MBA program, and was the Historian for the Bama SOS Brigade. After completing his freshman year, he achieved high enough academic standing to make the President’s List. His heart was immersed in his community, where he volunteered at Kids on Campus at Northwest Florida State College in the summers of 2013 and 2014, Camp 1831 and Move-In Day at the University of Alabama in 2016, and the City Council Campaign in the summer of 2017.
Dillon is survived by his parents David and Connie Richardson and his brother Dalton Richardson, of Brent, Alabama, as well as his brother David Earl Lynn Richardson, of Ozark, Alabama. He also leaves his paternal grandparents, Dennis and Patricia (Richardson) Finley, of Ozark, Alabama; his maternal grandparents, Nelson and Betty Walker, of Brent, Alabama; two nephews, Louis and Daelyn, sons of David Earl Lynn and Ashley; Uncle and Aunt Tim Ellison and Cathy (Walker), of Geneva; and four cousins Eli Ellison, of Mobile, Keith Ellison, of Geneva, and Samuel and Loretta (Ellison) Parker of Shreveport, Louisiana.

Dear Connie and David
There are absolutely no words in a time like this. Just keep your faith and God will see you all through. I remember when "Dr Richardson" was my Dr and always talked about your family and your babies. My heart goes out to you all as its breaking for you all. I wish there was something I could say or do but I don't know what except that I pray God gives you peace that surpasses all understanding. My heart with y'all always

I too lost my brother at a young age from a car accident and I can truly understand your loss. Dillon was an exceptional son, scholar and served his community well. All these wonderful memories will be in your hearts forever.

I am so sorry for your loss. You always spoke so highly of Dillon when I would bring my mom Sarah Graham (with PSP) to your office. You are an amazing Dr and mother and I wish I could take your pain away at this time. Losing a child is the worst pain imaginable. Just know my mom is in heaven playing with Dillon as I type this. I will keep you in my prayers. Big hugs!

Words are just inadequate when trying to express the sorrow I feel for the suffering you and your family are enduring. I would like to extend my sincere condolences to your family. For your loss, there are no words that can ease the pain of loosing someone you love. May you find comfort and peace in knowing that your loved one is in God's memory. Because they are precious in his eyes. Psalms 116:5.

Words offer little comfort in times like these, but I would like to offer my deepest and sincere condolences for your loss. I only knew Dillon a few months, but please know his impact on me will last a lifetime.
I had just spoken with Dillon on Friday, when he was interviewing me about being a campaign manager. Our talk lasted about 45 minutes and it covered a range of topics: leadership, government, the idea of America itself and what it meant to both of us. When we ended the call, I thank him for his exemplary service to the campaign. I'm glad our last words were on a subject he cared deeply about and was honored he chose me to interview.
Dillon was exactly the kind of young person you'd want to see get involved in politics. He was thoughtful, earnest, hardworking, with an inquisitive mind. Your son was an extraordinary young man. He helped reinvigorate my own belief in politics can be and I count myself blessed to have known him.
May God grant you peace and light in the midst of this unimaginable sorrow. If there is ever anything I can do for your family, please let me know.
Jared Nelson, Campaign Manager - Ryan Jones for District 3, Birmingham City Council.

Our families were neighbors once and Roger, Dan, Jessica and I hold you and just as close in our hearts and prayers. No other words can express my feelings adequately. Just know he was loved and will be loved and missed by the many lives he touched on his journey in life and passing to Heaven.

Dillon you were like a little brother to me when I was around. You have brought all of the characteristics of one to me laughter, and I must say plenty of it( my camo jacket ) ,aggravation, and whatever other ones there are. With that being said you will be loved, missed ,and remembered always and I am thankful for the time I had to spend with you . To Mr David ,Mrs Connie, DJ,and Dalton I am so sorry I really don't have the words to say how sorry and sad I am. Y'all are like family to me as well. Y'all were always good to me through the years and treated me like a son and a brother and I thank you for that. If there is anything I can do for y'all don't hesitate to call and ask. I love y'all.

We love you Dillon, and we miss you. You have the heart of a lion and the soul of a lamb. I am sharing these links of images of you dancing. It is a gift to be able to get a glimpse of your loving heart. I am so blessed to know you, and have been privileged to have shared sacred time together. You blessed our family, especially our daughter Faith. Our love continues with you and your family.
