James Elmer Patterson of Placerville California passed away on April 28th. Born on May 4th, 1922, Jim was husband to Maxine Patterson for 69 years, who preceded him home in 2013. Jim was a fixture in Placerville, his home for the last 8 years. He volunteered his time and efforts to the church and new community with his woodworking talents. Folks about town would often receive small wooden crosses or even Christmas ornaments from Jim during the holidays.
Jim and Maxine married in 1944, while Jim was on leave from serving in the South Pacific on the USS Stack. After the war Jim and Max settled in Reseda California, having 4 children and ultimately 4 grandchildren. They are survived by their son Ron, daughter Patti, and grandchildren

Joan & Marwin Parker, Uncle Jim & Maxine were an outstanding aunt & uncle, the best that anyone could ask for. They always stopped at our house. Uncle told me that there is a better life after childhood and he was so right. They were always glad to see me and my husband appreciate our visits to them. I have several pieces of his woodworking. Rest in peace Uncle Jim, you are now with Aunt Maxine. Loved you both.
