James G. Rogers III, 74, of Strawberry Plains, formerly of Knoxville and Jasper, TN, took his last trip August 8, 2017 after a life of travel and fun. He graduated Marion Co. High School where he was All State Conference Fullback. He attended Tennessee Tech and U-T Knoxville. Mr. Rogers was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Jasper and a member of Olive Branch Lodge 297 F & M in Jasper; former Fire Marshall for the State of TN. He was the Assistant Manager for the ET Chapter of National Electrical Contractors Association. In 1979, he was appointed Executive Director for the Chapter. He served as Training Director for 22 years for the JATC program for LU 760 & 934. In 1980, he was appointed to the 1982 World's Fair Committee to provide construction crews with qualified craftsmen. He was an avid golfer and he and his wife enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, skiing, and traveling during their 44 years together. Survivors include wife of 44 years, Jo Ann Culvahouse Rogers; son, Christopher Alan Rogers; sister, Ann Lewis Rogers of Jasper; granddaughter, Meghan Elizabeth Rogers of Knoxville; special brother-in-law, Alan Culvahouse of Knoxville, TN; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please send donation to your favorite charity.
