James M. Davis, Sr., born Oct. 15, 1930, of Arlington Heights, IL. US Army Korean War Veteran. Beloved husband of the late Jean S. Davis, née Spikings for almost 62 years. Loving father of James (Rocio) Davis, Jr., Mark Davis & Gregory (Marina) Davis; dear grandfather of Jeremy, Rebecca, Alyson, Adam, Jennifer & Anna Davis; dear brother of the late Ralph (Joyce) Davis. Born in Oak Park, IL Jim was the son of the late Ralph and Catherine Davis of Des Plaines, IL. After graduating from Maine Township High School, he attended North Park College and then graduated from Iowa Wesleyan University. Jim entered the Army right after graduation where he served four years. He was proud of his service and loved his country. Jim began his career in the insurance industry where he worked for 46 years. Upon retirement he dedicated countless hours volunteering including at local organizations such as PADs and his church. In 2016 he was invited to join the Honor Flight, which was a highlight of his life. But, by far his greatest joy was his family - and especially his loving wife, Jean. He was a long-term member of First United Methodist Church in Arlington Heights, and most recently, Trinity United Methodist Church. Jim passed away on July, 11, 2017, & will be missed by so many. Visitation Sunday, July 16, 2017, 3 PM to 8 PM at Lauterburg-Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Hwy., Arlington Heights, IL 60004 and Monday, July 17, 2017, 10 AM to time of service 11 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 605 W Golf Rd., Mount Prospect, IL 60056.
