James Vincent Thiele of Oldsmar, FL, passed away on March 12, 2017, after a brief illness. He was 76 years old. Originally from Delavan, Wisconsin, Jim moved to Florida in 2001 after his retirement from Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI. Beloved son of the late Velma and Ben Thiele. Dearest brother of Jerry (Denise) Gehrand and Bill Gehrand of Safety Harbor. Significant Other of Donna Dennis of Clearwater Beach. Father of Scott and Christopher. Jim graduated from Notre Dame University and then went onto to receive his Master’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin.
Jim was known for his logic, intelligence and wry humor. He loved travel, physical fitness, meteorology, growing flowers, solving crossword and Sudoku puzzles.
In lieu of a memorial service, a celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, May 6. Please contact Donna for time and place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made your favorite charity in Jim’s memory. Online condolences can be made at www.blountcurrywest.com.

Our heartfelt condolences to you Donna. I only met Jim once at the DWCUP fundraising event last year. Reading about him reflects a very interesting, intelligent and well rounded person. It's no wonder why you both enjoyed each other as closely as you did. May he rest in eternal peace and may beautiful memories of him live on in your heart and his loved ones and friends.
