James Dorcie "J. D." Nutt, 84, of Texarkana, TX passed away September 23, 2013 in a local hospital. Mr. Nutt was born July 1, 1929. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force; a 32nd Degree Mason; and retired from Red River Army Depot.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Nutt; a son, Ronnie Smith; and a daughter, June Haney.

Survivors include his daughters, Debbie Nutt of Texarkana, and Jean Adkins of Bristol, TN; sons, Charles Smith of Little Rock, AR, Richard Smith of Texarkana, and Stephen Smith of Texarkana; brother, Leon Nutt of Kermit, TX; sister, Joann Tinsley of Texarkana, TX; and many grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, September 26, 2013 at East Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Deacon David Fowler officiating. Services are under the direction of East Funeral Home – Downtown.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at East Funeral Home-Downtown.

He will render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, nor will they learn war anymore. (Isaiah 2:4). James Dorcie was a very brave person who loved life and loved us all by his selfless acts during his life helping others. Now in the near future he will reap the rewards of a peaceful new world God has promised. 2 Peter 2:13.
