J. W. was born May 17, 1919 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Hazel Beatrice (Stephens) and William Benjamin Adams and died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in Sweeny, Texas at the age of 93. J. W. was an honorable, hard working, loving family man whose presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He moved to Brazoria County from Roscoe, Texas and attended the First Baptist Church in Lake Jackson as long as his health allowed. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during World War II. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Fay Robertson Adams; daughter, Gay Matlock; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his son, Glydell Adams and his wife Sharon; daughter, Darlene Carpenter and her husband Gerald "Bit"; brother, Lester Adams; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.
