I will miss Jay, and will truly miss hearing his ringtone on Jennifer's phone. It always made me smile to hear "Bad to the Bone," especially because I knew that Jennifer would be smiling when the call was completed. God rest Jay's lovely soul.

Prayers and thoughts to the family. Jay was a class act and very kind person. I had the pleasure of going to school (Floyd and Carver) and coaching baseball at Seth Johnson with Jay and Jeff. He was most of all a Christian man, he will be missed.

Jay graduated from Carver with me in 1977. He was always kind and loved the Lord. I know I will see his bright smile again. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. The Class of 1977 at He Carver will miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Jennifer and his family during this difficult time. May the Lord hold you in the palm of His hand and comfort you and give you strength. Celebrate Jay's life everyday and cherish the beautiful memories. Jay will not be forgotten!

Jay had such passion and enthusiasm for life, showing a deep devotion to his three fine sons. At Trinity, the play was so grateful for his support and his willingness to print the program for our spring musical. Although his passing leaves a tremendous void for his family, Jay's life truly truly leaves a legacy of faith and commitment.

Our thoughts and prayers are lifting the entire Andrews family, church family, and friends during this most bittersweet challenge of life. May each one of you be comforted and granted peace only The LORD can gift. James and I went to high school together. May this poem bless and comfort; My First Christmas In Heaven
I see the countless Christmas trees
Around the world below,
With tiny lights, like heaven's stars,
Reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular,
Please wipe away that tear.
For I'm spending Christmas
With JESUS CHRIST this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs,
That people hold so dear,
But the sounds of music can't compare,
With the Christmas choir up here.
For I have no words to tell you,
The joy their voices bring.
For it is beyond description,
To hear an angel sing.
I can't tell you of the splendor,
Or the peace here in this place.
Can you just imagine Christmas,
With our SAVIOUR, face to face?
I'll ask HIM to light your spirit,
As I tell HIM of your love;
So then pray for one another,
As you lift your eyes above.
Please let your heart be joyful,
And let your spirit sing.
For I'm spending Christmas in Heaven,
And I'm walking with the KING!
I know how much you miss me;
I see the pain inside your heart.
But I'm not so far away,
We really aren't apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones,
You know I hold you dear,
And be glad I'm spending Christmas
With JESUS CHRIST this year.
I send you each a special gift
From my heavenly home above.
I send you each a memory
Of my undying love.
After all “LOVE” is the gift,
More precious than pure gold.
It was always most important
In the stories JESUS told.
Please love and keep each other.
As my FATHER said to do,
For I can't count the blessings
Or the love HE has for you.
So have a Merry Christmas and
Wipe away that tear.
Remember I'm spending Christmas
With JESUS CHRIST this year!

Jay Andrews was my friend, whom I admired. He was a great inspiration. As his pastor in our younger years, we and some other men met each Tuesday morning at 6 A.M. for prayer and fellowship. We both grew in the Lord as a result of those times together. One of my fondest memories is a trip Jay, my youngest then teenage daughter and I took to the Holy Land. You would have thought Jay was already in heaven as he celebrated each new site---you just knew Jesus was right there with us. What a joy to share those moments. I know his family will miss him, but he will keep Jesus busy answering all his philosophical questions.

Jay was not only a fine minister, you could tell by his sermons that he was a man who dearly loved his family. I will miss his sermons and his friendship and I know that all of the people at Snowdoun Methodist Church will miss his leadership.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jay's family. We were so fortunate to know and be friends with him. It is comforting to know he is with The Lord. I'm sure he is still talking and asking questions with him. I told him I wanted to make sure he got to ask all the questions he had. Jennifer and family we pray that knowing he is with The Lord comforts and soothes the pain of his loss.
