I knew Dr. Boren since I was 10 yrs. old. He did surgery on me at age 11. He was the most kind, loving, human being, I'll ever have had the pleasure to know. My heart is sickened and saddened to find out he has been taken from us. My heartfelt sympathy to you all. He will never be forgotten by me or none of my family.

Dear Family of the most precious Dr. a child ever had the good fortune of knowing and her family as well. Dr. Boren was my Dr. back in 1965-1966 when I was 10 years old. I had been born intersexed and he was more like a Daddy to me, than my Dr. He did my surgery when I was 11 yrs. old and we kept in touch by phone or letter until I was married and in my 30's I'd guess. I did have to call him from time to time about changing prescriptions for my HRT, he was always there for me, ready to interrupt anything he was doing to talk to his "Virginia". My whole family(Dad, Mom, siblings knew him and loved him with all our hearts). I knew him in the beginning when Marty used to work for him back in the 1960's and also when Barbara Tyler worked for him. He took as good a care of me, as any father would. My family loved him so much. We still do. I have lost my Momma in 2006, my Dad is still living, he is 81, will be 82 if he lives till the 7th. day of May, 2015. My Dad and Dr. Boren were like two teenagers when they got together, when I'd go for my appt's and exams. I wanted to share my heart with you all. I hope you get this message. If you would have time, I wish you'd drop me a short note, telling me about what took him from us all. My address is: Deanna Ellis, P. O. Box 752, Anacoco, La. 71403. I paid the $29.99 to have this restored because I wanted to feel a part of his passing as I had been a part of his life. Please know he was loved by me and my whole family so very much and will never be forgotten. He meant that much and so much to me. Thank you in advance. My heart goes out to you all. I am saddened to the deepest depths of my heart about his passing. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I do hope you receive this from me. It is very important to me, that you do.

My dad and Virginia were first cousins. I'm sorry that I never met this side of the family (I live in CA). Thank you for sharing photos and the lovely story of his life. I'm glad there was a lot of love and family. Would love to keep in touch with family members -- I was able to meet with Mary Helen a few times. Have lost touch with Sue and Ron Huff. Condolences to all.

Forty three years ago, on the only visit we ever had, Dr. Boren's common sense educated this patient in the best way. I admired him for his down home candor then and consider it the best advice I ever got.
