James Morrow Collins, 70, of Adairsville, GA, passed away Monday evening, August 11, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Collins was born in Adairsville on March 24, 1944, the son of Velma Morrow Collins and the late Paul D. Collins. Mr. Collins was a farmer and was also employed with the Floyd County School System as a bus driver. Flying was his passion and he had served as a pilot and flight instructor. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving in Korea and Vietnam. James Morrow Collins, 70, of Adairsville, GA, passed away Monday evening, August 11, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Collins was born in Adairsville on March 24, 1944, the son of Velma Morrow Collins and the late Paul D. Collins.

Mr. Collins was a farmer and was also employed with the Floyd County School System as a bus driver. Flying was his passion and he had served as a pilot and flight instructor. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving in Korea and Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Lam Collins, to whom he was married August 5, 1989; two sons, Jamey K. Collins (Carrie), Kansas, and Rodney P. Collins, Adairsville; one daughter, Brooke M. Collins, Adairsville; his mother, Velma M. Collins, Rome; seven grandchildren and a number of cousins.

A funeral mass was held Thursday, August 14, 2014, at 3 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Patrick Kingery and Deacon Stuart Neslin officiating. The family received friends on Thursday from 2 until 3 p.m. at the church and a reception will follow the service in the Parish Hall.

Interment will be in at a later date.
