James R. Downs, 76 of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013.
He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Derby City Bop Club and the Moose Lodge. Jimmy loved to laugh, joke, dance and sing, he will be sorely missed.
Jimmy is survived by his children, Robin Bennett (Jim), Sandy Downs and Lisa Newkirk (Derek), five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Clemons and a brother, Charles Downs.
A celebration of Jimmy's life will be conducted at 10am October 14, 2013 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be heldSunday, 2-8 pm and after 9am the day of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Lewy Body Dementia Association, Inc. 912 Killian Hill Road S.W. ,Lilburn, GA 30047

rusty was my wife's step father and even though they lost brenda a while back ,they stayed close....i will alway remember him calling and telling us to come out to trackside,to the wynn romm he had a table for us all...and the joy in their faces when they talked about her mom....he always had a kind word..r.i.p.
