James Edward Forkum. He was born to Hettie and George W. Forkum on August 4, 1922 in Glendale Arizona, entered into rest January 28, 2013 in Rocklin California at the age of 90. James graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1940 and entered the United States Coast Guard on November 11, 1940. After 20 years of service, he retired from the coast guard on December 1, 1960 as a Chief Aviation Structural Mechanic. He started a Federal Civil Service career at McClellan Air Force Base on December 5, 1960, and retired as a Sheet Metal Supervisor on January 4, 1980. He was born to Hettie and George W. Forkum on August 4, 1922 in Glendale Arizona, entered into rest January 28, 2013 in Rocklin California at the age of 90.

James graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1940 and entered the United States Coast Guard on November 11, 1940. After 20 years of service, he retired from the coast guard on December 1, 1960 as a Chief Aviation Structural Mechanic. He spent many years as a member of El Camino Baptist Church and later on as a member of Hillsdale Blvd. Baptist Chirch in North Highlands. He served both churches in a variety of positions including being an usher and a deacon.

He married Elizabeth Forkum in New York City on January 30, 1943 and was predeceased by her after 56 years of marriage. He is also predeceased by his parents, Hettie and George, his wife of 4 years Nita Forkum whom he married after the passing of Elizabeth, and his brother Virgil Forkum.

He was a member of The Retired Enlisted Association and was an active volunteer in the McClellan Air Force Base Retiree Activities Office.

He is survived by his brother Donald Forum and (Rhea) of Florence Oregon, sons James W. Forkum and (Sherry) of Santa Rosa California, and David Forkum and (Joanne) of Roseville California, 4 grand children James W. Forkum Jr. of Santa Rosa California,Tara Patanian and (Wayne) of San Francisco California,Julie Roderick and (TJ) of Lincoln California, and Ryan Forkum and (Kristy) of Roseville California,and 4 great grand children: Kailer Fulton of Lincoln, California, Morgan Forkum of Roseville California, McKenzie Forkum of Roseville California, and Karsyn Roderick of Lincoln California.
