James was born in Midland, Texas on March 10, 1959. He graduated from Lee High School in 1977. James married Daphne Jean Greer 33 years ago on August 22, 1981. He was a general contractor and owner of James Gee Co. for 37 years. He enjoyed hunting, driving his Jeeps and Mustangs, watching NASCAR racing, and eating banana pudding. He loved his dogs, his many loving friends and especially his family.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Gee, and his father, Louie Gee. He is survived by his wife Daphne, sons Adison and wife Melissa, Brandon, and Chance, and his brother Robert Smith and wife Martha, and his sister Cindy Terrill and husband Randy.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Ellis Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday August 25, 2014 at Cotton Flat Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Holeman officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
James had a very big heart and never met a stranger. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone. James loved to joke and make people laugh. He enjoyed helping anyone in need. He will be missed by many but never forgotten by any. His love for his family and the life lessons he taught his sons will be passed to his grandchildren to come.
We would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, and hospital staff at Baylor University Medical Center for the wonderful care they provided through his illness.
