James Greenway Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 1, 2013.

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

Chorus:
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect salvation, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

Bob & Barb Thonney

We do miss our dear brother greatly. It is a real encouragement of his children and grandchildren, others following his faith. Life is so brief and it shows that what is done for Christ will last.

I miss your daily prayer for me, Grandpa. Mine now only for you, dear Grandma, since Grandpa has moved to the Great Prayer-Hearer's home.

Very much love to you.

From a little girl, on our walks and hikes, I tried to match my stride with Dad's. Until later years, I never could. Now, I again am inspired by his example, to match his stride in stability, transparency, generosity and a genuine caring about others. This won't be easy, but, to quote one of his favorite passages, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me". So thankful for his steady and loving example.

To the Greenway family,
I just learned of Jim's passing. Sorry for your loss. I knew him through the Insurance Industry. I can honestly say that he was a "top-notch" educator who made learning easy and fun. He was always friendly and just a "1st Class
Guy". There weren't many like him! Your family will be in my thougths and prayers.

Dear Jim, you will be missed in the neighborhood. You so kindly gave such quality insurance advice over the years. Rest in peace.

To the Greenway family,
Charles and I had just visited with the two of you, and I have never been so shocked to learn of his death. Virginia and children, I know one thing for sure, Jim was ready to meet the Lord, no one lived each day like it would be his last like he did, he was truly ready, I know this must give you comfort. We're blessed to have been friends to the two of you, and will continue to see you VIrginia, Jim would like this. May God continue to bless all of you as you go through a grieving process, but also knowing that he's in no more pain and was blessed with such a loving family.
The service today was one that would have made Jim proud of all of you.
So sorry that we couldn't make it to the church for the reception, but the funeral was such a blessing. Love to all of you, Juliette and Charles Church

So sorry for your loss. I attended some of his insurance classes which were always educational and entertaining? He had a way of keeping your interest.

Sorry for your loss. I knew Jim professionally. I always learned something from him. I am a better person for having known him. He always made me feel smart when I asked him a question. He taught the broker's class I attended years ago and asked me to sit up front because I was one of John Solon's girls at Labow Haynes. He made it the best two days I ever had even though the subject matter was boring! I will miss him. Thanks for sharing him with us.

I had the pleasure of sharing office space with Jim for a number of years at SAFECO and always enjoyed his sense of humor as well as the sound insurance advice he'd provide at the drop of a hat. His CPCU classes at North Seattle CC were well attended and he prided himself on his students' pass rate. I also appreciated Jim's hobby of buying & selling used cars, especially cars from SAFECO. Jim wll truly be missed, but his imprint will be long-lasting on many. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this trying time.

What a triumph each time one of the redeemed of the Lord passes into the eternal joy of our Saviour's presence. We will miss him--his interest was such an encouragement.

So sorry for your loss. May the GOD OF ALL COMFORT and the love of friends and family carry you through this difficult time; because death is unnatural and we never get used to it. MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY.

Jim you will be missed by the pets of Wildwood Heights as you feed them on your walks and Halloween kids with your candy and messages. May your family take comfort in the joy you brought your neighborhood. The Elander family
