Mr. James E. Guzman, age 83, of Lynn, died Thursday in the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Mary G. (Werner) Guzman, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, James was the son of the late George N. and Lillian (Murray) Guzman. He attended Lynn Schools and was a resident of Lynn for most of his life. He also spent 15 years in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Mr. James E. Guzman, age 83, of Lynn, died Thursday in the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Mary G. (Werner) Guzman, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, James was the son of the late George N. and Lillian (Murray) Guzman. He attended Lynn Schools and was a resident of Lynn for most of his life. He also spent 15 years in New Smyrna Beach, FL. He enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during World War II.
James worked for the United States Postal Service for a brief time but entertaining was his true calling. He was the bass player and vocalist for the "Kings 3 Trio" and "Peter Carew and The Crew."
He was a communicant of Saint Mary's Parish and was also a member of the Chapter 64 D.A.V. and the Shoemaker Post #345 American Legion. He also enjoyed traveling.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, James A. Guzman of Gilford, NH and Diane M. DiClerico of Lynn. He was the brother of George R. Guzman of San Diego, CA and Delores Smith of Palm Springs, CA. Loving Grandfather of Jacqueline Perez, Adam Malo and Lauren Malo. He had an extended family of brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws and nieces and nephews that were very special to him. He was the brother of the late Herbert Guzman and Elda Gregory.
James' Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Monday at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Mary's Church at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting Hours Sunday 3-7PM. Gifts in his memory may be sent to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 75 Sylvan St. Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
