James Aubria Jones, 88, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Rev. Lee Griffin and Rev. Franklin Etheridge will officiate. The family will greet friends from 4 until 6 PM Sunday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.

Mr. Jones was born in Cordele, Georgia the son of the late Sara Pearlie Powell Jones and James Augustus Jones. He was retired from Southern Natural Gas and was a United States Navy veteran. Mr. Jones was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

Mr. Jones is survived by his children, James Augustus "Gus" Jones, III of Jones County, Ann Thompson of Forsyth, Linda Faye Mohamed of Egypt, Sonny Stephens (Dianne) of Leesburg, GA, Randall Jones of Jones County, Brenda Adams (Roger) of Powder Springs, GA; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four brothers; 2 sisters; numerous nieces & nephews.
