James E. "Papaw" McCall, 77, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010, surrounded by family when he peacefully went to be with the Lord. He was born March 14, 1933, in Wilson, Texas, to the late James and Edith McCall. He went on to marry the love of his life, Hazel Estelle Hargrove, on January 7, 1951, and together they had four beautiful daughters. James loved his family as much as a person was capable of loving. He was truly a great man and this world became a better place because he was here. James was a gift from God and everyone he met always considered him a friend. James E. "Papaw" McCall, 77, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010, surrounded by family when he peacefully went to be with the Lord.
He was born March 14, 1933, in Wilson, Texas, to the late James and Edith McCall. He went on to marry the love of his life, Hazel Estelle Hargrove, on January 7, 1951, and together they had four beautiful daughters.
James loved his family as much as a person was capable of loving. He was truly a great man and this world became a better place because he was here. James was a gift from God and everyone he met always considered him a friend.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Estelle McCall; four daughters: Rhonda Andrews of Lubbock, Connie Brower of Lubbock, Tonia Bradshaw and husband Mike of Frisco, and Joy Miles and husband Bryan of Lubbock; five grandchildren: Shawn Brower, Jennifer Cooper, Kimberly Balzen, Jason Heisel, and Brittney Miles; six great grandchildren; brother, Don Hatchell and wife Marietta; and aunt, Bessie Aten.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, from 5pm to 7pm at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be at 2pm on Thursday, December 2, 2010, at Victory Life Baptist Church in Lubbock, where he was a member, with Pastor Brad Jurkovich officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
