James A. Minnick, Jr., age 90, a lifetime Spokane and vicinity resident, was born to Jennie and James Minnick, Sr., January 12, 1923, and died December 7, 2013. He graduated from Lewis High School, attended Kinman Business University and was a member of The International Accountants Society. He, and his wife, Olive, were married in 1941. She preceded him in death in 2001, as did their only child, James III, in 2005. He was discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1946, having served on the West Coast and in the South Pacific. James A. Minnick, Jr., age 90, a lifetime Spokane and vicinity resident, was born to Jennie and James Minnick, Sr., January 12, 1923, and died December 7, 2013.

He graduated from Lewis High School, attended Kinman Business University and was a member of The International Accountants Society.

He, and his wife, Olive, were married in 1941. She preceded him in death in 2001, as did their only child, James III, in 2005.
He was discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1946, having served on the West Coast and in the South Pacific.

During his 31 years with the United States Postal Service, he held various supervisor and management positions, the last as Director of Finance for the Spokane Postal Sectional Center. He retired in 1978.

He is survived by his sister, Donna Minnick, Vallejo, CA, and several nieces and nephews.

He was a charter and life member of Spokane Valley Elks Lodge and a member of Opportunity Christian Church.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 9, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. in the Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home's Colonial Chapel, 1306 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA with Pastor Jerry Kennedy officiating. Private interment will be at Pines Cemetery, Spokane Valley.
