James Edward Moates age 70 of Pell City, AL passed away March 25, 2013.
Mr. Moates was preceded in death by his father, James N. Moates, mother, Gertie Moates, brother, Les Moates and sister, Debra Brown. He previously served as a Deacon and Childrens Pastor at Calvary Baptist and was a member at Heritage Baptist Church. He was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Magicians (Birmingham) and was employed with the Federal Aviation Administration and Supervisor of Air Traffic Control (Retired). And served in the Air Force with 5 years of service and a Vietnam War veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria J. Moates, daughter, Stephanie Moates Ogletree (Keith), son, James Patrick Moates, sister, Shelia Moates Hicks, grandchildren, Kayla Ogletree, Alex Moates, Olivia Ogletree and Hunter Moates.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 1 PM at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 2 PM at Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds Chapel with burial at Cook Springs Cemetery.
