James Joseph "Jimmy Joe" Molloy, Jr., 76, of Greeley died Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Bonell Good Samaritan Center. James was born on August 10, 1936 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to James Joseph Sr. and Marguerite Murial (Johnston) Molloy.

James was raised and educated in Tulsa. He graduated in 1955 from Holy Family High School. He attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.

On February 14, 1964, he married Nancy Lee Gajer in Denver. He attended St. Peter's Catholic Church in Greeley.

James was a tool and die maker. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 3519 in La Salle and a past member of the Greeley/Evans Moose Lodge.

James served in the United States Air Force from 1958-1964. He was honorably discharged and lived in Denver, where he met Nancy. After their marriage, they lived in Denver until moving to Kersey in 1973.

Following a stroke, he fought and improved. He was able to help others suffering from the effects of a stroke. He volunteered at NCMC for five years where he established an audio library for stoke patients at NCMC.

James is survived by two daughters, Lisa Honstein (Randy) of Fleming and Julie Heyman (Rick) of Kersey; a son, Brett Molloy (Michelle) of Eaton; two sisters, Joan Araas of Arizona City, Arizona and Jean Chilton of Tyler, Texas and five grandchildren, Levi Honstein of Farnsworth, Texas, Ty Honstein of Sterling, Grady Heyman and Rikki Heyman both of Kersey and Callan Molloy of Eaton.

He was preceded in death by his wife on January 27, 1989 and his sister, Sister Marilyn Molloy, CDP.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8th at Stoddard Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northern Colorado in care of Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 West 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634.

I wondered what happened to Jim over the years and think back to the times when he would bring all of you out to the farm in that bright green Bronco (?) to go rattlesnake hunting.
