James Edward Neader, Jr., a longtime McDonald's owner-operator in Cornelius, died as he wanted to on Sunday, October 7th, at his Statesville home, his wife at his side, after a fight with cancer. Jimmy was born July 14, 1958 in Steubenville, Ohio. He lived in Parkersburg, WV from 1966-1974 then spent the rest of his life in Statesville. A graduate of West Iredell High School and Lenoir-Rhyne University. James Edward Neader, Jr., a longtime McDonald's owner-operator in Cornelius, died as he wanted to on Sunday, October 7th, at his Statesville home, his wife at his side, after a fight with cancer.
Jimmy was born July 14, 1958 in Steubenville, Ohio. He lived in Parkersburg, WV from 1966-1974 then spent the rest of his life in Statesville. A graduate of West Iredell High School and Lenoir-Rhyne University.
He is survived by his wife Wanda Neader, daughter Ericka Neader, son Douglas Neader all of Statesville, mother Alice Neader of Mooresville, brothers Mike Neader (Melissa) of Statesville and Brian Neader of Chapel Hill, sister Mary Alyce Stephens (Mark) of Santa Rosa, CA, grandchildren Piper, Kayla, and Hunter, aunts and uncles Mary Jo and Donald Neader of Reynoldsburg, OH, Diane and Ryan Malphrus of Charleston, SC, nieces and nephews Alexanderia Neader, Eliza Kay Neader, Samatha Neader Fulp, Nicholas and Jennie Neader, Channing, Cole and Fallon Stephens, and more cousins than he could count.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Neader Sr., sister Maureen Neader and nephew Chase Stephens. His body can be viewed from 7-9pm Tuesday and Wednesday at the family home, 480 Baymount Dr in Statesville.
Jimmy was a longtime member of Statesville's St. Philips Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be held at 11AM on Thursday.
The family will receive visitors at the church from 9:45-11AM preceding the service. Interment will be at the Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Gordon Hospice House 2347 Simonton Rd. Statesville, NC 28625, or to the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte, 1613 E. Morehead St. Charlotte, NC 28207.
