James Bradley Rowins, of Winthrop, MA, formerly of Framingham, died on April 1, 2013. He was the husband of Gail (Coan) Rowins for 9 years.

Jim graduated from Framingham North HS in 1986 where he was a standout wrestler and track athlete whose determination was 2nd to none. Jim was a passionate music lover and fine player of the guitar. Jim graduated from Bentley College in 1991 with a degree in Business. Soon after college, his love for skiing and outdoor activities lured him to Aspen, Colorado where he spent five years perfecting his skiing skills. Jim rose to become a Fully Certified Level 3 Alpine Ski instructor from the Rocky Mountain Div. of the Professional Ski Instructors of America. Jim was a fitness enthusiast. He participated in numerous triathlons, road races, cycling events, Iron Man and completed the Boston Marathon. Every day he strove to finish a strong and vigorous workout.

Jim returned to Massachusetts in 1997 and embarked on a highly successful business career as a senior level sales executive with various technology companies including Fandango and Blackhawk Networks. He also dedicated himself to his other passion, boating, and quickly earned his 100 Ton Masters Captain License, which he used to service a growing list of loyal customers with memorable cruises around Boston Harbor and the surrounding areas.

Jim and Gail met in 2000 and in 2005 had a magical wedding on a pristine beach in the country of Belize. They moved to Winthrop and started a beautiful family and became active members of the Winthrop community. Jim was a member of Temple Tifereth Israel, a member of Winthrop Yacht Club, and a member of the Winthrop Elks. Jim loved his morning walks with his dog to the beach, stopping for coffee and to catch up with his many friends and neighbors along the way.

Jim's greatest passion was his children, whom he adored. Together with the love of his life Gail, every minute of summer weekends were spent as a family adventure on the boat; and in the winter months on the slopes or in the chalet in New Hampshire. Family meant everything to Jim, and he loved to spend as much time as he could with his sister, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and numerous cousins. A dedicated and loyal son, he honored his mother and father by visiting and talking with them often.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jack Richard (7) and Cecelia Cassidy (5); parents Joyce Rowins and Harry Rowins of Pompano Beach, FL, formerly of Framingham; sister Caraline Levy of Framingham, married to Meyer Levy; nephew Samuel Levy; niece Isabelle Levy; Aunt Marcia Pessin, of Falmouth; Brother and Sister In-Law Richard Coan and Andrea Coan of Scituate; niece Melanie; nephew Troy; cousin Jason Goldy, close friends Billy & Danny Pessinand many, many cousins. He is predeceased by his beloved uncles Robert Pessin of Falmouth; David Rowinsky of Cambridge, and Max Rowinsky of Kansas City.
