Dr. James "Jimmy" Wesley Smith, 69, of LaGrange passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at West Georgia Medical Center. Jimmy was born June 3, 1944 in LaGrange, son of the late William Smith and Ruby Heard Smith. He served as an Evangelist and Minister for the James Wesley Smith International Ministries. His ministry took him all around the world many times and he was awarded an Earned Doctorate by the Southern Bible Institute and Bible Seminary for his life's work. Dr. James "Jimmy" Wesley Smith, 69, of LaGrange passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at West Georgia Medical Center.

Jimmy was born June 3, 1944 in LaGrange, son of the late William Smith and Ruby Heard Smith. He served as an Evangelist and Minister for the James Wesley Smith International Ministries. His ministry took him all around the world many times and he was awarded an Earned Doctorate by the Southern Bible Institute and Bible Seminary for his life's work. Jimmy loved serving the Lord and embraced every opportunity to serve as a pianist, vocalist, and minister for thousands around the world.

Survivors include his daughter, Christi Smith Statham of Sharpsburg, GA; son, Jonathan Smith and his wife Susanna Smith of LaGrange; and two grandchildren, Bailey Statham and Caleb Statham, both of Sharpsburg, GA.

To celebrate the life of Jimmy, a memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 13, 2013 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Mr. Wayne Day officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.
