Beloved husband and friend, James Harry "Jim" White was reunited with the love of his life, Eva, January 3, 2013. The son of Floyd D. and Cenia H. (Underwood) White, he was born in Waynesville, NC on Sep 23, 1922.
Jim served in the U.S. Navy 1942 to 1951 and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Area Medal, American Area Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. He later worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and retired as a Foreman Boilermaker.
Jim married Eva Aaron, on Aug 14, 1953, and they made their home in Bremerton for nearly 59 years. Eva preceded Jim in death on July 11, 2012. He was very active in the building of the Olympic View Assembly Church and Camp Union Church. He was a Sunday School teacher to many and presided on both church boards. In the last nine years he has been a faithful attendee of New Life Assembly of Bremerton.
Jim was also preceded in death by his parents, and a stepson, Lou James "Jimmy" Messenger. His memory lives on with many cousins, especially first cousin Nancy Hemstreet, his "daughter" and friend, Ida Mae Cooper.
A funeral service for Jim will be held at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home at 2pm on Sat, Jan 12, 2013.
Jim's family would like to thank his caretakers from Martha and Mary In Home, Luz San Gil, Cresencia Torreno, Alice Davis, and Bob Kellogg, for their kindness and support.
