James Alton Wilkes, 90, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
He was born August 13, 1922 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to the late Neal and Pearl Bishop Wilkes.
He was a US Navy veteran and proudly served our country during WWII.
Left to cherish his memories are children, James A. Wilkes, Jr., Barbara Ruth Jackson, and Bonnie Wilkes Blinson; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will recieve friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Reeves Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Monday, May 13, 2013 in Reeves Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Maurice Lancaster officiating.
He will be laid to rest in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
