On Sunday morning, June 18, 2017, Jane Claire Woodyard went to be with the angels and her Heavenly Father. Jane is a long time Florida resident and is survived by her loving family; William, her husband; Michael, her son; and Julie, her daughter.
Jane was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts. At age two, she moved to Miami with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Juske and her sister, Miriam where she graduated from the Jackson Memorial School of Nursing and later received her B.S. degree in philosophy from Barry University. Later, Jane served as a Captain in the United States Air Force Nursing Corps and was assigned to N.A.T.O. in Izmir, Turkey. She has also worked as a neonatal intensive care nurse and at Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic. She was an extraordinarily loving wife and mother who enjoyed her family, friends, travel, the arts, horticulture, and the caring for and support of animals and the environment.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Culley's Funeral Home on Riggins Road. On Friday at 11:00 a.m., there will be a mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More at Tennessee Street and Woodward followed by a burial ceremony with military honors from Tyndall Air Force Base at the United States National Cemetery at 5015 Apalachee Parkway at 1:00 p.m.
Following the service, everyone is invited to "Spear It" at the corner of Tennessee St and Copeland for a celebration of Jane's life (a wake). The restaurant will be closed from 2 pm to 5 pm on Friday just for this celebration. There will be food and refreshments for everyone and all are invited.
Jane was and still is the center of our family and always will be. We love and adore her. Always will.
