Obituary

Funeral services for Jane "Jayne" E. Chilton, age 90 of Ogdensburg will be held Sunday (Dec 30, 2012) at 4:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Longbottom officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Ogdensburgh Cemetery. Calling hours will also be held on Sunday from 2:00pm until the time of the service. Ms. Chilton passed away Wednesday (Dec 26, 2012) at the Riverledge Healthcare Facility. Surviving is a brother Ralph Chilton of Lake Stevens, WA; a sister-in-law Yolande Chilton of N. Tonawanda, NY, a dear friend Ruth Hunter of Ogdensburg and twelve nieces & nephews. Her step mother and companion of almost...

Calling hours will also be held on Sunday from 2:00pm until the time of the service. Ms. Chilton passed away Wednesday (Dec 26, 2012) at the Riverledge Healthcare Facility.

Surviving is a brother Ralph Chilton of Lake Stevens, WA; a sister-in-law Yolande Chilton of N. Tonawanda, NY, a dear friend Ruth Hunter of Ogdensburg and twelve nieces & nephews.

Her step mother and companion of almost 60 years Elizabeth "Libby" Salmon Chilton; two brothers John F. 'Jack" Chilton and Thomas Chilton and a sister Mary Lou Larson predeceased her.

Jane was born on June 27, 1922 in Ogdensburg, NY a daughter of the late Erwin & Doris (Long) Chilton. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1940 and continued her education at the Effey Lou Wallace Business School. During her career, she worked in Pine Camp which is now Fort Drum, New York City, Bakersfield, CA & Joliet, IL prior to her longtime employment as a secretary for the Director of the St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation where she worked for 30+ years.

She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Ogdensburg and enjoyed her family, friends and poodles. Memorial contributions can be made to the Society of United Helpers, 8101 SH 68; Ogdensburg, NY 13669.
