LEXINGTON – Janice Gulbis Gardner, 70, of Lexington, South Carolina passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was the beloved wife of Guy Gardner, married November 2012 and together since 2000.
Janice was born in Columbia, SC on November 11, 1946. She attended Lexington High School, class of 1964. She cherished her years there cheerleading and making life-long friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ella Claire "Mema" Eddins and survived by her husband, Guy Gardner; her 92 year-old father, Bill Eddins; three daughters, Nicole Cobb, Amber McLeod, Natasha Gulbis and son, Bradley Gulbis; six grandchildren, Alexys and Austin Cobb, Bryce McLeod, Niko and Lundyn Gulbis and Braxton Gulbis; her two step-sons, Daniel and Chris Gardner and her two sons-in-law, Clyde Cobb and Bryan McLeod.
Janice was a free spirited, loving woman. She lived her life in the most positive way. Her actions and the incredible example that she showed her children and grandchildren are behaviors that should be emulated by all of us. A person who possesses qualities we should all try to imitate. Janice cared deeply for everyone she knew, whether you were family, friend or a patron at the Skyline Club. She was always willing to help out someone in need.
Janice will be missed by her family, and we will always cherish the times we spent together. She was always there when needed and was the most loving and caring wife, daughter, mother and granddaughter. She was selfless and always put others ahead of her. She never wanted people to go out of their way for her.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC.
