Janis Lee Klein, 73 of Lonoke, passed away September 12, 2017. She was born to Philip and Dorothy Klein on March 23, 1944 in Waco, Texas.
Janis considered herself a Texan, even though she lived most of her life in Arkansas. When it came time for her and her mother to take up residence in a long-term care home, they moved to Golden Years Manor in Lonoke, AR. Several years after her mother passed away, Janis moved to Lonoke Health & Rehab to live.
Many people move into a nursing facility to live out their final days, but Janis started to blossom and come alive when she entered the long-term atmosphere. A special thanks to Bonnie Henley, Activity Director at Lonoke Health & Rehab, for being her best friend and constant support. Heartfelt thanks to Pat Williams, Cindy Simmons, and Linda Topping, for being genuine and compassionate special friends to Janis.
She is preceded in death by her parents, many aunts and uncles, and grandparents.
She is survived by her sister, Marilyn D’Alano of Fresno, CA; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; and numerous cousins including Martha Basinger of North Little Rock, who managed her affairs and looked after her for many years.
Graveside service will be held at Rest Hills Memorial Park on Saturday, September 16th, 2017 at 2:00pm.
