Janis Marie Prescott Ebert, born June 27, 1936, passed away on July 31, 2014. She was the youngest of ten children. Born in Brainerd, Minnesota and lived in the small nearby town of Pillager. She worked as a Candy Striper in a hospital in Minnesota and also worked as a waitress there. When she was eighteen years old, she came out to Oakland, California and later to Southern California where she worked at Hayden Stone Brokerage Company in Los Angeles. She met her husband Jeffrey Ebert and after two years of courting they married. They were married for over 50 years. She is survived by her sister Alta Mae Hannahs in Pillager, Minnesota, her husband Jeffrey, three children: Stephen, Michael and Elizabeth as well as two grandchildren, Hannah and Amanda. Janis was a stay at home Mom, but was still interested in working. At first, she volunteered at school as a teacher's aide. Later, she had an in home day care for thirty years, where she cared for and nurtured many, many children and their siblings. Janis lived a godly Christian life serving her Lord, her family and her community as a member of the body of Christ, a stay at home Mom and an in-home licensed daycare provider. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Pastor Mark Spence will officiate at a graveside service for Janis on Thursday, August 7th at Bellevue Memorial Park, 1240 W. G Street, Ontario, CA 91762 at 10:00 AM.
