It is with sorrow to hear of Janis' passing. We were neighbors in old North Knoxville and cultivated a life-long friendship sharing unique life experiences of which hiking and camping and exploring and embracing Catholicism are the brightest.
With heartfelt condolences, Melissa Brown
“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ~Romans 8:38-39

Shannon, Michael, Keith, & Eric, I am so so sorry about your Mother's passing. She will be missed by many. I will miss our telephone conversations, mostly about old times & childhood memories with our families. I know she is walking the streets of gold with her sweet Mom & all the loved ones who have gone on before her. I am so sorry that I won't be able to attend the memorial service, due to my physical disabilities, but I will surely be thinking about you all & praying for everyone. RIP Janis. I love you sweet cousin.

"Janis made the good times better and the hard times easier.
Yesterday brought the beginning, tomorrow brings the end, and somewhere in the middle, Janis and I became best friends. I can't remember life without Janis. Hope her Journey now will give her peace and happiness. Love forever."
